Where rapping pets come from
In early November 2024 TikToker @abbieququ posted a photo of her dog Angela in a car, edited with AI so the dog appeared to rap Skai Isyourgod's "因果" ("Cause and Effect"). It passed 6 million views in a few weeks and turned into a trend of pets rapping the same song (Know Your Meme, November 25, 2024). Since then every new rap trend gets its pet versions; the Hotel Lobby trend of 2026 reportedly started with two cats (Complex).
